Chinese President Xi Jinping ended his recent four-country African tour with a 24-hour visit to Mauritius, where he had a tête-à-tête with Mauritian Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth. On his first state visit of 2018, Xi also called in to the United Arab Emirates, Senegal, Rwanda and South Africa, where he attended the tenth BRICS Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg.
