More than 100 investors of the Solar Energy Development Association (SEDA Egypt) sent a letter to the Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker asking for abolishing customs tariffs on imports of solar panels.
Last month, the government announced that it would impose customs tariffs on imports of solar panels up to 5%, after these panels were completely exempted from customs duty over the past years.
