The Department of Employment and Labour is preparing to introduce the amended Employment Equity Act in 2022.

Among other changes, the legislation will allow the Employment and Labour Minister to set employment equity targets for different business sectors. The Minister can set targets for different occupational levels, sub-sectors or regions.
