Ethio Telecom has launched an initiative to improve digital access by providing 2 million smartphones annually through long-term payment plans. The initiative, announced April 28, targets low-income and rural populations.

The program, developed in partnership with Siinqee Bank, is backed by a 4 billion Birr (USD29.9 million) annual budget and aims to make smartphones more affordable for underserved communities. The initiative also supports digital skills development and is part of broader efforts to enhance digital and financial inclusion across Ethiopia.
