Scholarships for Incoming Freshmen at the University of Missouri (Mizzou) 2026–2027

The University of Missouri, commonly known as Mizzou, offers a wide range of scholarships for first-time college (FTC) students who are beginning their academic journey. These scholarships aim to recognize academic excellence, leadership potential, and community engagement. Whether you’re an in-state student or coming from another region, Mizzou provides several funding options to help make your education more affordable.

Incoming freshmen are automatically considered for a variety of merit-based awards once they are admitted to Mizzou—no separate application is required. These include the Chancellor’s Award, Curators Scholars Award, Excellence Award, Provost’s Award, National Merit, Perfect Score Scholarship, and the Mark Twain, Black & Gold, Border State, and Tiger Border County awards (Levels 1 & 2).

These automatic scholarships are renewable based on meeting specific academic requirements such as maintaining a minimum GPA and completing a certain number of credit hours each year. This means that outstanding high school performance can directly translate into significant tuition support without any additional paperwork.
